The use of numerical representations in processing of nucleotide sequences
Košíček, Adam ; Maděránková, Denisa (referee) ; Kubicová, Vladimíra (advisor)
Conversion of DNA sequences for appropriate representation is important task before initiation of analyzes and further processing. The main goal of this work was to get familiar with types of numerical and graphical representations and their application for DNA analyzes. In consideration of great volume of methods and procedures, only a few were chosen for this work. Some methods can not be classified only as numerical or graphical representations, because of option allowing them to be converted into both of these representations. These methods were classified as graphical representations. Phylogenetic trees were programmed for chosen methods to compare its precision. Outcome of this work is summing up the results.
Assessment of the present state in the field of application of the stationary industrial robots and the mobile robots for the industrial purpose
Florián, Michal ; Matějka, Petr (referee) ; Knoflíček, Radek (advisor)
This bachelor paper sets out to map the state of the art in the field of industrial robots and to assess the main criterions according to mobile and stationary robots are sorted. Several representatives of their class were chosen as a specimen. In conclusion the paper makes a reference to the history and expresses a view of the future.
The EU Enlargement in the Context of the Financial and Economic Crisis
Nguyen, Gary ; Malý, Martin (referee) ; Ptáček, Roman (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the enlargement of the EU in the context of the impact of the financial and subsequent economic crisis. The thesis is divided into chapters. The first chapter introduces the causes and impacts of the crisis. The following chapter focuses on the performance history of the EU and the reasons for its expansion. The third section presents the current candidate and potential candidate countries in terms of their productivity and the development of relations with the EU. The last chapter identifies possible solutions proposed and attitudes towards expanding this unity. It is also analyzed the main objective of the work. The conclusion summarizes the findings of the thesis.
Use of value engineering elements for realization of building in the municipality
Chytková, Markéta ; Hanák,, Tomáš (referee) ; Puchýř, Bohumil (advisor)
The aim of my thesis Use of value engineering elements for the realization of buildings in the municipality is to compare the evaluation methods of procurement in municipality and evaluation methods using elements of value engineering. A tender for reconstruction Šubertovo square was realized in the city Dobruška. In the thesis is shown way of evaluation of competing offers of the city Dobruška itself in sublimit simplified procedure and evaluation of competing offers by selecting more evaluation criteria and selecting the best offer with the highest degree of effectiveness.
Using wavelet packet transformation for image compression
Kučera, Michal ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Kyselý, František (advisor)
The need for storing and transferring digital image data is still growing nowadays. The Compression is necessary to achieve effective usage of transfer and storage capacity. This Bachelor’s Thesis is concerned with compression method based on wavelet packet transform, which is derived from wavelet transform. It is focused especially on best basis search algorithms from whole wavelet packet tree. There is a comparison between 6 best basis and near-best basis search criterions by R. R. Coifman, M. V. Wickerhauser and C. Taswell in this thesis, which is achieved by using Matlab environment based program. The program was created for testing and demonstrative purpose only and that’s why it contains certain limitation such as only black and white image processing and its limited resolution. There is applied constant threshold on testing image after the several best basis criterions application. The Mean Squared Error is used for comparing outcome quality of compressed and original image. The function that acquires minimal Mean Squared Error is considered the best best-basis search criterion in term of visual quality. The results show that some of the Taswell’s functions significantly improve the visual quality of the image at the price of worse compression ratio against common Shannon entropy.
Control of non-stable Systems
Heczko, Lukáš ; Findura, Milan (referee) ; Vavřín, Petr (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with control of unstable processes with two unstable complex poles using algebraic control with emphasis in value of the controller output. Thesis consists of theoretical introduction, including initial conditions with analysis of basic approaches to the control design with one or two degrees of freedom regulators by solving polynomial equations. Constrained control is studied more detailed. Optimization problem of „lowest fuel consumption“ is used for design of controller and is used for both degrees of freedom regulators with additional condition of zero variance control. Thesis includes some examples of control design by described method. Small library of MatLab functions were developed also to make the design more easier. Conclusions are made at the end and achieved goals are reviewed.
There's black and white, day and night, good and evil, yin and yang. It all just balances itself out.
Ilič, Risto ; Kořínková, Jana (referee) ; Mazanec, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis "There's Black and White, Day and Night, Good and Evil, Ying and Yang" follows the three-year existence of the collective "Ugly Brno" and its work, which is based on the still current, local phenomenon of redesigning of advertising banners and shields in the context of small businesses located in the Brno city center. Specifically, it focuses on emerging designs combining black and white. The output of this bachelor's thesis is a video – a fictional interview in which Black and White are personified as two confident, eccentric personalities, quasi-experts in today's visual culture and the ultimate guarantors of taste, who conquered the city of Brno with their realizations. The objective of this thesis is to reveal the mythology behind the popularity of black and white combination in the context of visual culture, particularly in graphic design and its connection to the problematics of gentrification and capitalism. Another objective is to use sarcasm and irony to create a reflection of a culture whose values are elitism, workaholism, perfectionism, disregard for alternatives and an emphasis on efficiency. Why is it that in such a culture, black and white has gained more and more popularity than ever before?
Extending Access Control List in Dokuwiki
Macháč, Ondřej ; Kočí, Radek (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the Wiki systems, especially DokuWiki. It deals with history, legal aspects and possibility to create pluggable modules (alias plugins). Plugins are also main theme of this work. At first, a simple plugin for user access rights is designed. Afterwards is extended plugin's functionality with advanced settings of permissions and is also created the ability of automatic user login based on specific entry informations.
Multicriteria assessment of flood protection measures
Hala, Mario ; Dráb,, Aleš (referee) ; Říha, Jaromír (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is dealing with the flood-protection measures appraisal by multicri-terial analysis, proposed by Basin Morava and Odra companies. Part of the work is also common statement of the multicriteria analysis and description of the individual steps.
System and the criteria for selection of candidates for the position of Director of schools and educational establishments from the perspective of the tenderers
Kašáková, Eva ; Trojan, Václav (advisor) ; Voda, Jan (referee)
TITLE: System and Criteria of Selecting Applicants for the Position of School and School Facility Headmaster from Applicant's Point of View AUTHOR: Eva Kašáková DEPARTMENT (INSTITUTE) The Centre of School Management (Centrum školského managementu) THESIS LEADER: PhDr. Václav Trojan, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The Bachelor's thesis deals with selection procedures for the position of headmaster from the applicants' point of view and focuses on the confirmation of the hypothesis that headmasters consider managerial knowledge and experience to be of primary importance at selection procedures. The theoretical part describes both general procedures of selection procedures together with other methods, and selection procedures for a managing position in education. The practical part examines selection procedures the applicants for the position of headmaster went through using author's own questionnaire. Another part of the questionnaire deals with the criteria the applicants expected to be applied in the selection procedure. The final part of the questionnaire examines the order of criteria according to their importance as perceived by participants in selection procedures. The content of the questionnaire particularly focuses on managerial knowledge and experience. The data are evaluated in charts and tables and all- national...
